We are approaching Rethinkyoyo's third birthday (boy, does time fly).  This time last year, to celebrate, Rethinkyoyo hosted a worldwide tutorial contest.  The contest was sponsored by 4 companies and received over 70 tutorial submissions from many different countries.  However, one of the things that amazed me most was that the four winners were from four different countries.  It was truly a global contest, and it benefited the community greatly, supplying a fresh influx of new tutorials.

This year, Rethinkyoyo is again holding a tutorial contest.  Once again, you, a player, creates a tutorial and uploads it for the whole community, and you will be in the running for some very fun prizes.  This year, though, with even more prize contributors than last year.  I selected companies that are either small companies or newer companies to ask to be a part of this contest, and I was delighted at the response to my invitations to contribute.  Nine companies have all agreed to contribute prizes to the contest.  More power to them, this contest would have been impossible without them.  And thanks to them, even more participants will be awarded with great prizes this year.
Create a video teaching a trick.  You can use text, voice, or simple breakdown method to teach the trick, and the trick can be anything from a simple whip to a complex full-length to a flowing repeater.  You then must:
  1. Upload the video to YouTube (or Vimeo)
  2. Name the video "Rethinkyoyo Contest 2012 - [Trick Name]"
  3. Insert the Rethinkyoyo Tutorial Contest Image into the beginning of your video. (Download the image here)

I plan to make a tutorial, I'm not the best at editing. I have already started on it. I need to go over a spell check, :P I hope I do well, it's my best trick. :P

HG FTW MAN! Anyways, you should have an example entry to give people a little of how the vibe is (no not the yoyo behavior).

The tutorials on Rethinkyoyo can all serve as examples of what I'd consider to be quality tutorials, and you can also look at the winner from last year ("Lotus Bloom Tutorial" on YouTube or "Lotus Bloom" on the Rethinkyoyo trick listing) for another really well done tutorial. But really, just teach a creative trick creatively. Sound good?

The tutorial must be on English?

Zhan, unfortunately yes. If you don't know English very well, then you can just do a simple breakdown-style tutorial. That way, you just do each move slowly and maybe from different angles, and you don't have to use words or text.

Out-classed? Maybe... but maybe you're the next Justin Weber just waiting to show off your intense classiness...

Aww...1a only. My main style is 5a and I also wanted to make some tutorials for 13a but I guess I gotta invent some new 1a trick. Let the games begin!

Ahh sorry bout that. Well good luck creating a new 1a trick! Let some of that 5a influence bleed into your 1a, that makes for a really nice look sometimes.

Can I do a Jensen Kimmitt trick that 's not mine?

Evan, I don't prefer people to make tutorials for tricks that they haven't made up themselves, but it would be fine if you did. You wouldn't be disqualified or anything.

I look forward to seeing your entry!

I'll try to make one, but it probably won't turn out very good because I don't have a good camera...
