I first saw this trick done by a thrower named Eric Tranton. Pretty much from the moment I saw it I knew I needed to learn it. It's one of those tricks that is simplistically elegant and really catches attention from people. And that's not even mentioning the fact that it creatively utilizes the little-explored concept of "plane breaking." If you asked me to describe plane breaking, I'd say something along the lines of "intentionally moving or manipulating the yoyo out of its most stable line of motion."
Because you are moving it in a way that is pretty unstable, you will most likely have tilt issues while you're learning the trick. The more you practice, though, the more you'll be able to keep the yoyo mostly tilt-free.
