About this trick
A classic trick by none other than Doctor Popular (aka Doc Pop) himself.  You show me a yoyoer who doesn't know Skin the Gerbil and I'll show you a yoyoer who's been living under a rock.

The yoyo has to spin for quite a while to do this trick, so make sure to keep the string centered in the gap of the yoyo as you're swinging it around.

Oh, and another thing.  Lately people have been renaming this trick "Gerbil."  PETA probably called someone about animal abuse and threw everyone into a tizzy, so now the name has been politically corrected, but I'd rather do Doc Pop justice and keep with the original name, even if it is a little cruel.

Well.. it's been all this time avoiding it because i got a nasty snag when doing Oliver Twist. I found it easier to just go from Oliver Twist right into lindy loops instead of stopping between and now im a pro gerbil skinner. :P

Awesome, great to hear you got it! Yeah, a lot of times once you understand what's going on, you should definitely just go straight to doing it fluidly in one motion. That procedure can work wonders.

Now choose a bigger target and try skinning a hamster...

GOT IT! Took forever since every time i did the oliver twist it would snag back. It still does sometimes but most of the time i land it. Im working on speed now. And next trick up for grabs :3 suicide!

Sometimes when I do the Oliver twist, it just falls off the string instead of goin back to a trapeze. How do I fix this?

Not sure if you've seen the tutorial for Oliver Twist here on Rethinkyoyo already, but if not, check that out.

The trick is making sure when the yoyo swings around on the inside of your throwhand arm, it is to the RIGHT of your throwhand. This keeps the string connected to your TH middle finger from falling out of the gap of the yoyo.
